And so commenceth the week of mad giggage…

Just a few music-related events happening in and around London during the next week that I’ll be going to and would definitely be worth checking out:

Friday 26 (that’ll be tomorrow): Dillinger Escape Plan and Poison The Well at Oxford Zodiac; admittedly it’ll be chock full of little hardcore/emo fuckwits but it’s still a fucking stellar line up.

Monday 29: 5ive’s Continuum Research Project at Camden Underworld; if you’re down with anything and everything from Isis to Mogwai to Spacemen 3, Flying Saucer Attack and Sonic Youth check these guys out. An undoubted highlight, should they choose to play it, will be their re-working of Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun into 25 minutes of general psychedelic madness and noise; possibly the only time Pink Floyd have ever sounded good.

Thursday 2nd: …And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead at London ULU; I imagine this has sold out but if you can blag tickets get your arse down there seeing as it’s the only date they’re playing anywhere in England other than ATP. For those with their heads firmly planted under a rock for the past few years, …TOD play melodic art-rock *cringes at his own description* in the vein of Sonic Youth that’s prone to veering off on feedback strewn tangents.

So, in the words of Peter Griffin’s wheelchair bound neighbour:
